Hi, I keep trying to make a lavender soap with attractive purple, but never succeeded, just wondering what is the colourant to use to make a purple colour like this?

In those bars, I would say it's more than likely some type of lab color, or synthetic colorant. You wouldn't be able to color anything that bright with natural ingredients. But I'm sure you could find all sorts of suppliers with a purple colorant that is similar.

What have you tried? Purple is a hard color to achieve naturally but I think a lot of soapers have had success using Brambleberry's lab colors and oxides.

Hi, I tried comfrey's root powder, alkanet root, and other 2 purple from new direction.

Probably Neon Purple

TKB trading in CA has a neon purple powder (that you mix with glycerin). It looks like TKB's neon to me. When mixing with glycerin (or water), use two parts glycerin (or water) to one part color. Generally you need to use a lot of purple, or it turns out an icky gray color.

Hope that helps!

Or the Conservatory has a Happy Hour purple that might give you this color. I think you'll have to go with mica's, ultramarines or some synthetic color to get this, same as Meg said.
