I can't decide for the life of me how I want to package my soaps (I change my mind every few days).

I would like to try shrink wrapping since it seems to be very affordable and efficient (although not "green" like I would prefer to go - but right now I'm all about CHEAP!!) I may not stick with it for my soaps, but I have another business that I could use it for if I don't.

So, what do I need? An impulse sealer, shrink wrap bags, and a heat gun? Does anyone know of a website that sells these things at a decent price? I have seem them around on different soap supplier websites but thought someone might know off the top of their head which place is cheapest?

Thanks! :)

When I used to do M&P soaps I bought these cool shrink wrap bags from Majestic Mountain Sage, which are perfectly shaped for shrink wrapping soaps. They also sell a heat gun and an impulse sealer, but you really don't need any of those for wrapping soaps in the shrink wrap bags if you have a hand held blow dryer for drying one's hair. That's all I ever used with the bags and it worked great. They also sell shrink wrap on a roll. I don't know how their prices compare with other companies, but I've always had good experiences buying from them.

I got my shrink wrap from www.coastalscents.com but I don't know if it's the cheapest. I think it's 500 for 17.95. They just happen to be in town, so I don't have to pay shipping and handling. All you need is a hot blow dryer to shrink wrap.

If you want to go cheap, have you considered making your own templete and printing you own cigar bands. That's what I do, although it can be a little labor intensive...

I don't particularly like the smell of the plastic shrink wrap and it's hard to get into when opening the bar of soap. But again, that's just my opinion...

Hope this helps

Try "Dan's Bands" from Majestic Mountain Sage (www.the-sage.com) they are good and open at the end so you can still smell the soap and are easy to get to the soap. Not sure what size your soaps are, but I think they are the ones that fit the bulkier size soaps.
