Hi, I was wondering if somebody could give me an idea as to what this white stuff could be.

I orininally poured this mix into a mold and put into the fridge to skip the gelling stage (I think I must have failed at in miserably lol) it seemed it didn't matter how long it was in the mold (in or out of the fridge) it insisted on sticking to part of the mold (the grooves of the writing).
In the end I decided to make these little hand molded bars as the mixture was still quite pliable, rhey came up quite nice until about 1 week ago. If I rub this white stuff off will it return? Thanks for any help offered. Donna. Oh I forgot to mention, the soap was made about 3 weeks ago.

Looks like soda ash.... it's just the soap reacting to oxygen in the air. They say you can spritz it with rubbing alcohol to make it disappear, though it apparently is only an aesthetic problem.

By the way.... what are those orange spots in your soap?

It's hard to tell whether they are something you intentially put into your soap or if they are DOS.....

Thanks Danielito, I just rubbed rubbing alcohol over the bars which took the problem away, so far so good. I had an idea it may have been soda ash but wasn't sure. The spots you see is wheatgerm, for a moment there you had me thinking lol.

lol I have no idea. I thought I had oats on hand but I didn't so I threw some wheatgerm in instead. Ahh the joys of experimenting
