i poured a funnel soap last night. was real careful w/ my ingredients amts etc...i added spirulina as the colorant, about 1 tb to 1 & 1/2 c ightly traced soap. did the funnel thing. everything seemed to go well. i couldn't wait to see how the soap looked so i just now tried to cut it.....it's been about 16 hours post pour....well the weirdest thing happened when i cut....the whiter part seemed real nice and solid but the innerpart that was colored just felll out of the slice....it was pretty soft, unlike the whiter part which was nice and firm
here a pix of it. the outer white part is fairly firm, the inner greenish part is much softer and one end is a bit crumbly so if i cut slices off of that end, the green part tends to fall out....
i'm wondering if i cut too soon and it hasn't had enough time to become soap yet. the curing conditions aren't exactly idea right now. its about 78 degrees and about 89% humidity.....i hope that's it. i rewrapped the rest in plastic and am going to give it more time. any opinions would be appreciated. i'm wondering if i didn't put too much spirulina in it and that messed with the consistancy of the soap???
i don't actually cover the entire soap in plastic, i just meant the top layer to prevent ash from forming but i'll take that off now.
