I need to get myself a decent set of scales. I've read all the posts and recommendations here on the forum. Trouble is, i'm in the UK. Was wondering what scales the UK peeps use, supplier, price etc. I would like a scale that weighs in 1g increments, can be used with a mains adapter and one that you can "turn off" the auto off feature! I know it's meant to save energy but it is so annoying when you are weighing out a number of oils and the darn thing just turns itself off!

I'm in Ireland, and use an Ikea scales - however I wouldn't recommend it for the reason that you state - it keeps turning itself off (it's supposed to after 30 seconds idle, i think, but it often does it when I'm right in the middle of pouring liquid oils  )

Sorry, it's an anti-recommendation rather than a recommendation, but hope it helps :)

Thanks for replying, I've been searching for a while now and found one last night that fits the bill. It's a bit pricey though and I wondered if there were any good deals to be had.

I searched around for quite a while too - it seems to be very difficult to get an affordable scales with a mains adaptor that isn't really expensive. I found some postal scales that sounded good, but they were €120+ - way beyond my budget

I bought scales from 'county scales'. They were really helpful guys there and gave me some really specific advice. I'd say, dont scrimp on your scales - they're the most expensive piece of kit i've bought and they were worth every penny. You really need to know that you're using accurate weights.
