My weekend was mostly occupied with me being obsessed with making a creamy shave soap. I also managed to make some soaps for my mom's birthday and father's day. All are HP except for the orange soap.

The far back left soap is oatmeal, milk, and honey. My dad loves this scent.

The front left is my goatmilk shaving bar scented with pearberry. I colored it pink and it turned to burnt orange. On it is the men's shaving soap scented with bay rum and lime. Very very creamy.

The pink soaps are for my mom (I'll keep some of course). Scented with Love Spell, which smells better in the soap than the bottle.

The blue soap is scented with coolwater and are probably going in the garbage because they smell like bug spray.

Thanks for looking!

i really like the daisy soaps. great detail for h/p!

i love receiving hand made gifts-i'm sure your parents are very proud of you.

good job! :D

Very nice i have those same molds, how did your cp come out of plastic molds? i dont have good luck, whats great is silicone, cp just pops right out!!!

honor, I only did HP in the molds. I think I put CP in a plastic mold once and said never again! the soap was so mutilated I chucked it. It was a horrible recipe anyway. These work fine for HP. I overfilled all of them so I could scrape off the bottom to get a smooth look. Do you ever use yours?

Heartsong, I hope my mom likes them. She is scared to try my soap so I thought I'd make them pretty for her. Although I don't have a lot of hope. :(

Eucalypta, I still have the stinky soap but it's far away from any of my other soaps. I'm going to stuff it in the basement closet. Maybe it will keep bugs away!

WOW, that is HP?! How do you get it so smoooth? Is it pourable? or vaseline?

I used all new recipes for these batches and they were all vaseline-like but yet pretty fluid and behaved so well. I packed them in the molds like crazy. I bang the heck out of them and then smooshed them down. Since they were in a see through plastic mold I'd look for any air bubbles and try to get them out. I cook my HP in the oven at 195F for an hour and that seems to do the trick for every recipe. No zap either. No water discounts. I read that to get a good recipe for molding you need to have a similar ratio of soft to hard oils, which is what I tried to do for the pink soaps.

The OMH one is too soft, but I'm hoping it will harden up. I added the goat milk slurry after the cook with additional cool water and that made it pretty fluid. I have them in my basement with my dehumidifier going and they appear to be firming up better. It's a soft recipe anyway. I used a log mold for those and cut off any crunchy parts.

The peach shave soap was CP. I wish I wouldn't have gelled it. I think in the future I will put my milk soaps in the fridge. I did that for my buttermilk and honey soap and it's so pretty. It's the color of honey.
