Should I splurge and have waterproof labels professionally done for lotion bottles and/or toner bottles, or could I print them myself and spray them with clear spray paint to "seal" them or would that not be enough protection to keep them from smearing?

I use the spray acrylic for my labels. I found that the water and weather proof ones still smeared with oil.

I would suggest buying a canon MX320 from walmart, it has water resistant ink. Then I would purchase vinyl waterproof labels from someone, I use papilio.

It's 2 parts, both the label & the ink need to be water resisitant.

Thanks guys! That helps a lot. Red, do you use waterproof labels and then spray with acrylic paint to seal them in? I just want to understand for sure. I am thinking as long as the printer Tabitha suggested doesn't cost too much, that is the way to go.

I print my own with my laser printer on waterproof labels. Laser printers actually "cook" the toner into the paper rather than just laying down a layer of ink which washes and smudges off.

Tabitha I hadn't heard of that printer before..... cool

I should have mentioned, the printer is just $100.00. Other printers have waterproof ink too. Just do a little research or speak with a store employee who know his/her stuff.

Zyron carries alot of different products that can laminate, add adhesive, etc. They come in a varity of sizes and prices. I use the laminate to make waterproof labels and then use the adhesive cartridge to make them sticky.
