Learning to make votives - I def reached the proper temps (used a new thermometer this most recent time) and also stirred sufficiently. This time I used some dye. I scented at 5% instead of 6%. The wax is supposedly IGI 4625 and supposed to hold 6% FO load, Seems the addition of dye made even more FO leach out, and I used less.
I used 8oz of wax and about a 1/3 of a dye chip. (dye came form Hobby Lobby) - I am very discouraged as there is no explanation why the wax will not hold the FO. Unless it is not what it was stated to be - I purchased it off ebay from a 'reputable' seller. I just reached out to them about this.
My 1st attempt, I am also sure I did things properly (see my previous post about oily residue) and some of the FO leached out. But with the dye, it was much worse. The FO here is Lemon & Lavender from The Candlemakers Store. I guess I either to try a different wax or add vybar to make this wax work. Not a great way to start out
