I want to try using vanilla powder in soap. I found some at the health foods store and it REAKS of vanilla and I was wondering if anyone had tried it or what it brought to the soap. And if he scent survived

I have. I got mine in the baking section of a bulk foods store...NG also carries it. I do all Hot Process (double boiler) and add it after the cooking process. Works wonderfully. I add anywhere between 1-3 Tablespoons to 2lb. of oils. The vanilla scent stays and isn't too sweet. No discoloration either.

Think that would work in CP soaps? I'm intrigued... a vanilla scent with no discoloration is always a good thing!

I disolve it in Sunflower oil and add it at the very end....after all other additives.

To Clarify....it doesn't really dissolve, but I mix it with the Sunflower oil so it is easier to distribute. I am sure it dissolves once it hits the hot soap batter.
