I ground up fresh cinnamon, heated it in OO at 200 degrees, strained it and it smelled, and still does, wonderful. Mixed it in with Vanilla 10X from Oakland Gardens, which smells great too. 1 oz Cinn. OO, 1 oz Vanilla EO 10X per 38.5 total oil weight. Mostly Avacado, Palm and Coconut with some Shea and Olive.
Mixed two different brown micas to go with the brown from the vanilla and the soap came out fantastic, .... however, it smells kind of earthy, slight hint of vanilla, not at all like what you would think of as true vanilla smell and the cinnamon really isn't there at all unless that's what is making it almost tea treeish. I guess I was expecting more of your stereotypical Vanilla Cinnamon smell but I got something that's not bad, but completely unexpected.
Any thoughts?
thx

Thanks for the repy kind sir! I understand about the cinnamon infution, thx, but still wondering what happened to the vanilla. Mixed EO and OO into oils @ 110 degrees then mixed in lye/water at 113 degrees.
By the by, the EO smells great in the bottle.
thx

Excellent point! It's from a company called Oakland Gardens from My Seeds Co. website. Vanilla 10X Vanilla planifolia. They market it as an EO. I would imagine it's an absoute, it's not a blend, but you would know much better than I.
thx
