Valentine's Day is so easy to miss. If you take the week off between Christmas & New Years, you pretty much miss the valentines day boat.

Are you ready? Whatcha' doin?

Valentines means cosmos! So cranberry/strawberry works for me!

As soon as I catch up on the product I'm out or low on then I'm going to do a bunch of valentine themed soaps as well as bath bombs. I'm going to create gift sets that will include roses and the theme will be love and divas.

I can see it in my head now I just need to drag it out of there and get it made....

Valentines day prep

I have no idea where I could sell for it at this stage but I am preparing.
I have bought some flixable heart molds and some double sided ones.
I have big lot of Strawberry and Champagne fragrance I just recieved from Big Tree Supplies and the Rose Damascas Essential oil that for some crazy reason I imported from India at humoungus cost and Rosewood from Escentials .
So I guess I am semi prepared.
Is it an old jaded heart that has me dragging my heals on this one ?
Oh for that first flush of spring love I have vague memories of.
Course my passion really is all consumed with SOAPING

Well, I had every intention of having some of my heart-shaped soaps to sell at the craft fair in Jan, but my shipment of lye got detained at the point of departure & won't be here until tomorrow. Then, I ran out of some of my oils & they won't be here until tomorrow or the next day.

If I make soap on the 3rd it will be only 3 weeks old when I sell it. Now, if customers were giving it for Valentines Day, it would be fine, but if they purchased it & got a wild hair to keep it & use it immediately, it wouldn't be completely cured, so I guess I'm missing the canoe. Waaahhh!!!!

Mandolyn, there was a thread on this once before & people had mixed thoughts on it. I have no problem with a note attached to the soap that says do not use before Feb 10, or when ever the soap happens to be cured. How about a whimsical little note *This bar of extra fresh handmade soap has not quite finished it's magical sophonification process. Please do not use before Feb 10th.*

That's a good idea, Tabitha. I'll cogitate on that. :D

Okay I fine-tuned the recipe for my main Valentine's soap.....it will have EVOO, CO, Castor, Sweet Almond, Rose Petals, Tussah Silk, & White Clay. The bars will be rectangles with hearts painted in mica onto them. I will also use the same recipe for the Celtic Heart Guest Soap Molds.

I'm hoping to get at these tomorrow as CP and they won't be ready for sale until the week of Valentine's (yeah cutting it close) unless I put on a "Don't Use Until February 14th" tag.

Then I want to make bath bombs with crushed rose petals as well to match the soap. Those can be done closer to the date and then be included in the Gift Basket.

Okay, now I'm excited...... 8)
