So I'm going to be going to Canada in Nov to stay with my husband while our immigration paperwork is in process, and I have to store almost all our stuff here until we're approved and I don't want a bunch of oils and stuff in storage, going bad/leaking and I likely wouldn't be allowed to take most of it over the border anyway, so I'm using up what I've got. Friends and family are quite happy with me lol

No colors or fancy tops, just scented to get my huge stash of scents used, but wanted to share anyway since it's been SO long since I posted anything.

Last weekend (still need to trim these up) L to R: papaya coconut (with ground oats and kaolin clay); unscented; popcorn

Today's batch L to R: coffee; apple; orange creamsicle (all with ground oats and kaolin clay)

they all look great.
i hope everything gets sorted soon and you can both be together and settled

I agree - they look great! Although I am wondering about the "popcorn" one. Do you mean it smells like popcorn?

Good luck with all the immigration red tape. I hope it goes through quickly. :D

Thanks :) The popcorn is scented with WSP's crazy caramel corn, which to me smells like movie theater popcorn lol Kids love it, it's like crack to them lol

I can't wait til november...being able to see my hubby for a few weeks every 6 months or so got old a long time ago!

They look great!

Question: why do you line your silicone molds?

Glad you and your hubby will be able to spend more time together.

Thanks :)

I line the molds because unless I wait days and days (not an option with my level of IMpatience), some of the edge always sticks/tears. This way, by the next morning (usually a few hours), I can pull the soap out by the edges of the liner and examine my handiwork, no waiting, no sticking/tearing

(today's batch from above is already unmolded and cut LOL)

Mmmmm crazy caramel corn sounds sooooo good :0) All the best with the immigration. I have a Scottish friend here in brisbane who lived in Canada for two years (hubby worked for volvo) and just loved it :0)
Soaps look beautiful I so love pics of soap in the molds :D

Fantastic fun ... and here's to you (family and friends) loving all your new soaps!

My silicon moulds are different colours to yours and luckily I don't have to line them ... that would drive me insane!

Hi Amy, I find that if I gel, these molds release with no problem. If I don't, then pop them in the freezer for a couple of hours and they should pop right out. I had to play with them a little bit to get full gel. I preheat the mold on the lowest setting, pour the soap, put it back into the oven and turn the oven off. The residual heat is enough to ensure full gel most of the time.

In the summer, I just put the filled soap molds in the car or on the hood if it's been recently driven.

Thanks Amy! I kind of wondered...

judymoody -

Thanks for the tip! I have the same problem with the soaps sticking in these molds. It's a bit frustrating and I'll try heating them next time.

I don't mind lining them, I've got it down so it takes about 30 seconds to line each mold, and it gives me a surface to cut them on when the sides are pulled down :) Even with gelling (mine usually gel, the 3 yesterday got so hot they cracked thanks to my house being so hot), I'm too impatient to wait to unmold. I gave up trying to be patient and just work with it lol
