Can I use unrefined shea butter in lotion bars? I just got my order of shea(it has a funny smell) and would love to try lotion bars, but I don't want them to stink I would be doing cocoa butter, unrefined bees wax, unrefined shea butter and coconut oil in equal parts. I dont want to waste the ingredients if it's gonna stink....thanks

I recently did a lotion bar with unrefined shea and almond oil. I scented it with apple fragrance so you can't smell the shea. If you were going to do an unscented lotion bar I'm sure the smell would be ok. IMO the shea doesn't smell bad. IDK what you would do if you wanted it to have no smell at all though. You are more likely to get the chocolatey smell of the cocoa butter.

Even when you make unscented butters or creams with the refined product they still have their own scent. Some people do prefer it so that it's not clashing with their perfume...
