Good for you , once you use the lye once , it is not so scary , as long as you have your goggles and gloves.
Wishing you great success with your soap..
When I first started soaping, I started out by grating ivory soap, it was suggested in a class I took and it is a great baby-step toward soap making. For me, it told be some basic properties about soap, like "it melts", it made me do research, because I was afraid of lye to, plus I had a lot of time on my hands waiting for supplies.
Then you will be so god-awful dissatisfied with your handmilled work because no matter what you add to ivory, it still smells like ivory, you will leap into hp and cp and never look back!
