types of mixtures

Hi

Lots of reading made me understand that there are 2 blends of DIY Liquid Soaps.
One which mixes Borax, Caustic Soda, Baking Soda and a bar of soap. Another which mixes Oils with KOH and water. Is the first blend better for laundry and the second for hand liquid soap? or which is best for what?

I don't know about the recipe with KOH; but here is one that uses sodium hydroxide.
