Tropical Paradise...

I finally got my pineapple FO I'm thinking of making My dad (who took me on a recent trip to Mexico) his special request soap. He loves tropical scents and wanted me to make him a soap scented with pinepple, coconut and mango!

So this is my vision:

The bottom layer will be a sandy beach . I was even thinking of using real sand. But thinking that will be too rough, I may just use tan soap with white finely ground apricot kernel.

Next will be layers of alternating light blue, dark blue and white soap using the zebra stripe to replicate the waves of the sea.

Then on top of that I would like to use an embed in the shape of the setting sun. (or the moon for my "moonlight pomergranate soap!)

Then poured around that will be the sky... either layers of pretty orange, yellow, and pink or whatever, maybe just a blue sky? OR...

I thougt about a night sky (with the moon) black with activated charcoal with tiny white jojoba beads to simulate stars. :shock:

I'm excited to make this one. I'm going to draw it out first and color it in with color pencil to get a better idea. Then I need to make the embed ahead of time so i wont be making this tropical soap until tomorrow. Good thing I have tomorrow off too YAY!!!

Oh, that sounds beautiful. I think that the setting sun and layers of brighter colors sounds nicer for this one then the black sky with stars. I would definitely hold onto the idea of the black soap with white "stars" for another soap though... but that is just my not so humble opinion :wink:

Ya I think your right. I will save the moon one for the moonlight pomegranate soap. A sunset/rise would be more fitting

just got back from getting pvc for the embeds. phase one begins....

I just made one like this; zebra water, setting sun (paper towel roll) and sky. Came out gorgeous! Smells amazing too, peru balsam and orange eos.

i am afraid of what my soap would look like if it was based on my mexico trip.i think it would be taquila scent 4 sure.funny thou i went with my dad also.snorkling was the greatest part of the trip.mabey i will try a bubble theme with fish? not the scent that would be nasty.i could call it soap gone wild.:angel:

Soap gone wild lol! Thats a good one. You could scent it like a mojitto maybe!
