Trace too fast

When I make my CP soap I have been using a Braun stick blender. It really has the body of a regular hand held mixer and comes with a stick blender attachment. I have never had a batch take longer than 5 min. to trace. My last batch took a little under 3 min. Most of the time I love it that it goes so fast but I want to do some swirls in future and from what I read I will have a tuff time if things are going so fast. Any suggestions? Should I do some hand stirring instead?

If I am going to do swirls I SB for about a min. then I hand stir, that way I have more time to play with the batch

I would stick blend til it's traced, but very light.. Then hand stir it to keep it moving before I pour.
