Totally New Trying to make Liquid African Black Soap.

Hello everyone. I really hope you can help. I'm trying to make liquid African Black Soap. I'm using the raw coco pod ash. I cant decide if I need to heat up the ingredients or if it's a cold process and its not giving me enough lather and its quite thin and watery . Also i'm getting a cream colour instead of dark brown, I think it's the shea butter and palm kernel oil that's causing this. i can't figure how much water to the coco pod ash i should use. HELP!!

Been there; done that! I'll have to dig around in my files to see where I kept my notes. What I do remember is that it was wonderful! But I only made it once.
