I just made my first white and blue marble soap. For some reason white part turned a little yellow :-(

Pretty :)
If you have a lot of yellow oils or dark oils it can do that.
How much TD did you use?

Love the color blue. The fragrance you might have added could have turned it yellowish or the oils in your recipe. Ive had that happen before. Its still very white and looks cool ;)

Thank you for the nice comments.

For this recipe (1.5 pounds) I used:

2 oz castro oil
21 oz olive oil
5 oz palm kernel flakes
4 oz coconut oil

also I added, 1 tbl spoon of TD and few droops of pearl white, 1 tsp of blue ultramarine and for the lack of better FO I added 1 oz of lemongrass FO.

probably just added to much TD i added one tsp to one pound of light oils and one of my batches ended up like that, Looks really neat tho!

I call it the crackle effect. I usually get it when I haven't done a good job of incorporating the TD. Like at the last minute when my batch is at trace, I just toss some in instead of diluting with water or oil first and then taking my time to blend it in well.

Yep, 1 TBSP for 1.5 oz of oils is a lot of TD. Also, I didn't ask if your TD is oil or water soluble & how you incorporated it.

My TD is oil soluble and I mixed it in about cup of oils before mixing with the rest of the batter. Probably did not mixed well enough because I was scared of quick trace.

I get the crackle effect often when I gell my soaps. Seems the heat plays on the TD. A soap I made recently here in the gallery has crackle through the white which had td in it and the other colours have none
