Attempted to do a zebra swirl today, going good with oils at pourable stage, liquid colour in one half was great, but the half I put TD (it's the powder in some castor oil)' went to thick cream! The two batters did not pour well. I can only think it was the TD. what you all think ?

I had a similar thing happen with TD a few days ago and my swirl was ruined. I was shocked I didn't really think TD would do that but nice to know now to be a little more careful when using it:(

I have heard using coconut milk as part of your liquid gives a nice white color. I've never tried, though, so can't say from personal experience.

I know when I premix my TD, it thickens up in the small container, so I would think it would thicken up soap also.

I have started using a white mica instead of td, and I like it a lot. I don't get the crackly look that td sometimes gave me.

I have the kind that you mix with water, and have not had thickening problems with it, but I have noticed that when I swirl with it it gets glycerin rivers and cracked looking, which makes me think it gets hotter in those spots.

Which is why I only use oil soluble td. The more water used in soap the more possibility of overheating, so it could be possible that the extra water in the td is causing it. I only know that water td almost always causes crackling for me
