First attempt at using my home-made silicone soap mold liner per the instruction video on the soap forum.

Colors: salmon, navy, neon yellow and mint-ish green.
Scents: patchouli, orange x5, a little clary Sage

A few drips and drabs along the way, but should be the perfect gift for our hippie, artsy friend.

I love the vibrancy of the colors. How was the process for the silicon mold?

As far as MAKING the mold it was easy. I'm wondering about the texture it will leave on the finished product. Perhaps it was the brush I used or my lack of patience, but I fear there will be visible brush marks on my soap. I'll know soon. Will also report on the ease of unmolding.

Verdict is in...

Silicone mold liner = AWESOME!

Slab slid right out of my mold. The liner peeled away easily. Zero leakage. A few impressions from the not-perfectly-smooth surface of the liner itself, but sometimes paper liners do that too. The liner is durable showing no signs of stretching or weakening. It rinsed easily with water, and I hung it over the kitchen faucet to drip dry. Ready for the next batch.

Here's the cut bars. Not perfect by any means, but that has nothing to do with the liner. :???:
