Thunder Snow.

DC is in the midst of another snowstorm! This time with new and improved Thunder Snow!

I'm cozied up and ready for the big freeze. I went to the library today. I left with Dr Zhivago, The Unbearable Lightness of Being, Time Travelers Wife and Secret Keepers. Harris Teeter provided me with 2 kinds of Talenti Gelato, a bottle of Riesling and 2 nice thick & boneless steaks and bunch of white tulips. My iPhone is charged and my laundry is done. I had a mani/pedi, got my hair cut and had a facial. Kids are all at their own homes and my house is finally clean and quiet.

Let it Snow! Right? Wrong. DH has been on his way home for the past 5 hours. He was only 12 miles away. 5 Hours! He's called every 10 minutes. Traffic is a cluster ****.

So much for my nice romantic fire. Instead I'm going to knit socks. The same socks I've been knitting for the past 2 months. I've got maybe 2 hours left on them. We'll see. There's hope they'll be in the mail this weekend.

What do you all do when you're snowed in?

Oh no! That's too bad. I don't get snow here, so I'm not much help.

I've never been snowed in...but would probably read a lot, make soap, watch movies...knit some.

Sounds like you're ready...just need DH home.

Oh Deda, that's so awful for your hubby (and you)! Hope he is back home safe now.

I'm snowed in often. Sometimes I take to cooking up storms (soups, stews, and baked goods).
Last week, I got 4 random books and a pile of movies from the library; stocked up on food and esp. breadmaking supplies (love to bake those rustic, low-yeast artisan breads), Tylenol for colds (got a doozy of a head cold this morning) and lots of boxes of tissues; and tons of knitting to keep me busy. I have been making one batch of soap every other day (the in-between days are for unmolding, cutting soaps and washing up pots and utensils); I hope to have a nap today too. But I do spend a lot of time surfing fourms and the 'net when it's too cold to go outside.
