I just had my first volcano tonight. I was doing a very pretty Baby Rose soap I’d done before that had turned out perfect. Well tonight the batch was for 50 soaps and after putting the FO in it started to separate and then started to seize so I stuck it in the mold real quick. Then a few minutes later it started growing, I was so alarmed I considered leaving the room…thinking it might explode on me!

My oil and lye was too hot I’m sure of it. I usually do RTCP but was impatient tonight and didn’t want to wait till the morning.

Now I’ll have to wait until the morning anyway to rebatch. At least I’m sure it’ll still sell, rebatches can be pretty too.

m going to soap baby rose tonight so thanks for the warning. I'l soap cooler than normal! Happy rebatching! I'd be curious to know how you make your rebatches pretty... mine are pretty ugly! :?
