Anybody ever done this? Any thoughts? I have a silicone pie pan and I was just thinking, I could put some cocoa butter in it, put it in the oven at the lowest setting (150) for an hour, put it in the freezer, then easily pop out the cocoa butter cake.

Makes sense to me. I would think that it does not matter how you temper it as long as it stays at the proper temperature the proper amount of time.

I've never done it but I imagine it would be fine. I'd watch it in the oven to make sure it was melting evenly and stir it every so often so it doesn't have "hot" spots but as long as your oven has even heat, I don't see why it wouldn't work. ;-)
