My tattoo artist comes once a year to the local convention. It is in 10 days and I am going crazy trying to find the right idea. I have a tattoo to finish, but want to start something new. I have looked at about 1000 images and nothing is clicking. I know the spot I want. There is a piece of art I like which I am debating about. She is an exceptional floral artist and I have several orchids. I have images of flowers, agh, I am so frustrated nothing is coming to me!

Good luck!

One thing I've learnt ... never get a tattoo unless you're passionate to have it. I have an amazing artist who designs and does her own ink ... and I loathe it when I don't have something for her to work on and I have a trip to her city ... but I accept that art can't be rushed and that when I do have something organised she'll get the best possible piece of work ready and inked for me.

I know it is a lifetime commitment so it has to click. Finding images is hard. Sometimes I have an idea, but my artist doesn't know what it is! Finding the material so she can understand me is what frustrates me. I have bought books before and just ordered a picture for inspiration.

My biggest problem right now is getting my art re-inked. After 30 years, well, it has faded a Lot! Back then, no one in my area did fine-line art. I never even heard about fine-line tats until the late 80's.

I have a large once-beautiful peacock on my back that needs its color revived. Best thing is, back then I went from a picture in a book. Now, I can snap a pic of my own peacock and take it in for more accurate color!!

I'm fortunate. The guy I like is twenty minutes away. I only have the one (a week old today), but I've been in his shop numerous times with friends and such. It took us awhile and a few drawings, but we finally came up with a tattoo we both thought was perfect. :)

bettacreek - don't you love the healing? Mine is at 2 1/2 weeks old and finally not itchy or dry. They are trying a new healing technique, using a product called Landerm. It is Tegaderm basically, a clear sheet bandage that allows breathing. I used it the first three days with great results. No sticking to the sheets or clothes!

MullersLaneFarm - the colors are amazing now, you will be so happy after it is re-worked!

Really?! I have a ton of tegaderm in my room. I had actually thought about using it, but was afraid that in the end, it'd make it worse. But, sticking to the sheets and such really sucks. I got stuck to my pants when I fell asleep on the couch... When I woke up, it was seriously a decision between ripping the pants off my leg or soaking my pants! Luckily I had pj's on and could weasel my right leg out before peeing myself, lol.
