I like the result when I use palm oil in my CP soap. Does anybody know where I can buy smaller quantities (<20 lbs) of palm oil that has been certified as sustainable? I have also been looking for jewelweed EO or perhaps an extract. Thanks! :)

Do you have a Whole Foods near you? If so, they carry palm oil. It's called Organic Vegetable Shortening. They may have your EO too.

Have you tried Columbus Foods? If you Email them, they might be able to help you. They are a source of sustainable palm.

thank you! I think there's a Whole Foods in Milwaukee, and I've heard of Columbus foods--I'll give them a try!

Yes... Columbus Foods a.k.a. Soaper's Choice carries sustainable Palm in one gallon bottles (approx 7#) as well as larger quantities. I get many of my oils from them though I try to order several things at once to combine shipping.

If you have questions about anything they are very responsive to emails and phone calls.

oils by nature.com has sustainable palm oil, so they say, I did email them. They do have good prices on butters, if you want less than 10lbs. shea butter is 18.50 for 5 lbs! Ive bought palm from soapers and was happy, except its in a jug, but i took a razor knife and cut the whole top off, prob solved.

I wouldn’t waste to much time looking for a source for sustainable Palm oil. Once the Palm plantations are planted the natural habitat has already been destroyed . After spending all that money destroying the jungle and homes of native animals and people of course the farmers and corporations are going to “sustain” their crops. Just buy where it’s cheapest.
