I've done a search for this on the forum and read every thread I came across, and I just want to make sure I understand. When I run my numbers through soapcalc, it automatically discounts by 5%, to take into account averages of SAP values. However, if I wanted to superfat further, I could do this by adding (ball park figure) 1T of jojoba oil per pound of oils. Or, is it easier to just change the default from 5% to 6 or even 7%?

I just want to make sure I understand before I go dumping anything into my next batch.

Thanks for humoring a newbie!

Yes, definitely change the default. I don't go beyond 8%. I've read that beyone 10% is increasing the chances of those free-floating oils going rancid. If you're going to sell your soap, definitely stay under 10%.
