Horray!

100% coconut oil, with an equal amount of Himalayan salt. The color is ultramarine blue oxide, and I love it. Done by hot process.

It's hard to see in the pictures, but the bars are pale pink (from the salt) and blue (from the oxide). I'm very in love with them.

You can see the swirl pretty well here.

The edges are a bit rough, but I may keep them that way-I was lucky enough to get it out of the loaf mold in time (it set up in an hour. I blame the cold PA temps), so I won't futz with them much.

Nice one....still have to try the salt bar....it is on the agenda...maybe when my daughter goes to school for the first time next week (or I will probably spend the whole day crying!) :)

It was pretty quick and fairly easy once I got the hang of it-I had one failed batch previous to this one because I took too long after cooking it to get it in the mold (was futzing about with colors).

And I hear you-my son starts school this September and I know I'm going to be bawling my eyes out :(

Looks like you pulled it from a coastal tidal bed. :)

Thank you! I was so happy when I saw them cut. I was slightly disappointed when I saw that the oxide wasn't as bright as it is in regular soaps, but I think the muted blue is more reminiscent of the ocean anyway =P Definitely making these again-I have just enough salt left for another 3lb batch :)
