sub for Lanolin?

I'm going to make a balm and it calls for Lanolin which I don't have.
Can I sub glycerin for lanolin?

You can get lanolin at target, walmart, and most grocery stores in the baby aisle, under breastfeeding supplies....lansinoh cream. :)
 
they are very different, so I don't think you can do a direct substitution.

you can get it in the baby area of stores as cdc mentioned, but it costs a fortune.
