I have a gallon of lotion I have made up and was wondering if storing it in the refrigerator is ok. I have read that you should keep it in a cool dark place, so the refrigerator sounded like an option. Does it really help the longevity of the lotion?

If you have preserved it properly that's not necessary unless you plan on storing it for more than 6 months....
