Hey there, does anybody know what the problem is with my soap? It’s made with olive oil/coconut oil/ water and lavendel incent. It becomes sticky when using, like the oil is separating or something..

Hi there! How long has your soap been cured? Also, if you can provide your full recipe, that will help us trouble-shoot the issues.

High olive oil soap can take longer to cure than soap that has no or a small amount of olive oil.

Thanks so much for your replys. 3 weeks with the first batch. Would you recommend curing the soap also on a drying rack? The recipe is in grams because I’m from the Netherlands:

241,5 gram water
130,12 gram lye
210 gram coconut oil
839 gram olive oil
15 gram lavendel incent

Thanks again!

I've translated your recipe into percentages so others can chime in:
Coconut oil 20.02%
Olive oil 78.98%
Lye concentration 35%
SF 14.4

Based on oils alone, I would expect this recipe to require 2 months, minimum, to begin to lather well. With such a high superfat and at only 3 weeks old, I'm a bit surprised it can lather at all.
