I just opened up my block of Shea Butter to measure out for a batch and noticed that it looks like it has spots. The very top where is hasn't been disturbed is ok, but in the middle hole where I've dug out of it, it looks spotted. I've only had it for a month or so and says it should be good until 11/15. I keep it in my pantry where it is dark and somewhat cool. (As cool as it gets in a Texas summer!) Just wondering if this is common or is it going bad?

I got mine off of amazon (African Shea butter) and it had black (dirt) spots. I had to heat it and strain out the dirt and corn kernel (there was one of those in it as well). Now all is good with the world :D Not sure if you got the same kind tho.
