Hello everyone! I’m a newbie and this is my first post, so I hope I’m in the right place and doing this correctly.
I am trying to locate a source to buy pre infused natural colorants, but having a hard time. I found plenty of sites to buy the powdered colorants, but they all require 6-8 weeks of infusion. I do understand that I can do a quicker infusion (4-6 hours) in a crock pot, but there has to be someone/some where that is selling natural colorants ready to go. Are there any members here that sell them as well?
Thanks in advance!

Oh, you're in luck! I think. Maybe. First thing you need to understand is that IF you can find a supplier that sells pre-infused oils, they will be pricey and it's so much cheaper and easier to DIY that all you need is a little education, links to where to buy the products you want to infuse, the best oils to use and you're good to go.

If using natural colorants, I have a quick & easy way of infusing oils that I use all the time. Here's a thread on making Carrot Tissue Oil. (Note the cost of buying it online in the first link provided) It not only colors the soap a beautiful golden shade but it's good for the skin as well.

I agree with Zany - even if you could find them for sale, I think the cost would be pretty high.

Holly of Kapia Mera is one of my favorite soap artists. She only uses natural colorants, and has a video on how she infuses oils. I haven't done a lot of this, but I've used the heated method both on stove top and in a crock pot. It's really very easy to do. I had one sample heat seal tea bag that I used for alkanet root powder, and that made it even simpler - no straining :)

A soapmaking friend recently held my hand for making infusions for soap. It was really easy the way she did it: Take a small amount of oil (maybe 1/2 tbsp, we were doing small 9 bar batch), add the botanical you want to infuse, and microwave in 30 second bursts until you get the desired infusion. We did annatto (3 min total micro time) and alkanet (4-1/2 min total micro time). Very easy to do for instant soapmaking gratification.
