I have been making the same recipe for months now and sometimes it does not seem to harden it is soft and does not come out of the molds it is soft and crumbly, and totally disheartening could it be the weather or maybe too much frag.oil or maybe just the fragrance itself, has anyone else ever experienced this? What are some of the best places you have all tried for fragrance oils I have tried wsp, brambleberry, snowdrift and Daystar, the frag this time was cherry meringue, I have tried two batches of cupcakes with this and the first batch was wrecked and some of the second survived, I also had this happen with lemon sugar cookie frag. maybe it is the fruit scents or the vanilla I cant figure it out, if anyone has experienced this please let me know

no, it is not the frag that is the prob of soft soap, what recipe are you using? usually it is lye short or too much water. You can use less water, it will harden faster, i use double of my lye amt.
I like peak candle.com, natures garden, bitter creek, wsp. for fos., but they all behave differently, acc, discolor etc.

Thanks honor,
I have just started into a new batch of frag. oils I think I jynxed myself b/c the fo were doing great until I hit the raspberry and it seized and the cherry meringue is soft, I used a recipe I have been using that has been cost effective for soaping It has been great for cupcakes and other techniques ,I do a 1oo% olive oil and I leave that in the mold for 3 days and it gets super hard and a recipe with coc, olive and lard but this one is
3lbs crisco
6oz lye
12 oz water
If it is not the frag oils it is prob. the crisco, I get a generic at my local grocery store I had read the ratios of fats can vary in it, I hope I dont catch alot of slack for this recipe I dont sell it and like I said I t does soap beautifully most of the time and is super cost effective, I like the rest of the world am on limited resourses and have def caught the soaping bug

hmm, ive never done 100% anything. I use co, co, po, castor. It is very good soap, but I do know some of those oils can be spendy, but maybe go cheaper on fo(bb is exp), and maybe do hp, you use less fo, 1/2 the amt.? Peak has buy 10- 1ouncers for 20$, as does ng. but there is that darn shipping. I got 7 or 8lbs of co for 20, thats with shipping, at soapers choice. have fun.
