I'm on spring break, and have been on a soaping/bath & body making binge. Yay! Here are pics of what I've made. I don't color my soap (yet, I generally prefer non colored soap, but looking at all the terrific soaps others are making, I think I may have to break down and try it out), so they aren't that interesting looking, but here goes anyway:
The soap on the left is my shea shower soap, scented with coconut lime verbena. Next time I might try a light green. The soap on the right is my eucalyptus rosemary EO kitchen soap with lemon peel. I LOVE LOVE LOVE that soap. Feels great, smells awesome, and takes the onion, garlic, and other smells right off your hands. That one needs no color. I like the rustic look of it for the kitchen.
These are the first three I made this week. The green one is a 90% CO, 10% shea butter salt bar (50% salt). I did tint that one green. don't like it so much, but it's okay. This one is the soap equivalent of making red wine: have to wait at least 3 or 4 months to try it! The middle soap is a facial recipe I'm tweaking. Used aloe juice instead of water. Scented with baby bee buttermilk - smells like almond extract to me, so that's the last of that FO for me. The soap on the right is a baby soap I formulated as a baby shower gift for some teachers at school who will soon have babies. Unscented and no color. The facial soap I did not gel, and the baby soap I did gelled.
My first batch of sugar scrub cubes, and my first experiment with color - I like how they turned out. The green ones are scented with coconut lime verbena (LOVE that scent!), and the blue ones are scented with Capri Olivo (Nature's Garden). I really like that scent too.
I made the shower and kitchens soaps, and sugar scrub cubes for a handcrafted soap basket I'm putting together for my school's fundraising auction at the end of April. I also made a batch of mango/shea/cocoa body butter that is terrific, scented coconut lime verbena to match the soap and sugar scrub cubes I'm putting in the basket. I have yet to make my hand soap bars and some bath melts for the basket.
