Alright, I’ve been saying for awhile that I can’t believe there isn’t a soap making show. (in the vane of the English baking show, maybe.) Watching the superb owl, I’m reminded of that idea. Wouldn’t it be great?! How would that even work? People really don’t get how crazy it is to mix lye, liquid, and fat and make art. There would be some population education for sure!

Yes! They could even make it like the cooking shows where they get random soaping oils and colors, and have to come up with a design on the spot. Of course, it could not be unmolded or cut right away, but with editing, they could cut the next day and show that as the last part of the show.

ETA: They could even have the judges do the cutting! But they couldn't wash with it to judge the bubbles, so the judging would be on designs only.

Editing is EVERYTHING! Slow motion cutting with dramatic music and cliff hanging cut-to-commercials, it could be SOap exciting!

I have been thinking this EXACT SAME THING!! There are cooking and baking shows (love Nailed It!), a blowing glass show. And my sons got me into this blacksmith show called Forged In Fire and it's full of drama and suspense and the host barking the time left. Losers are told "Surrender your weapon." It's a hoot!
My daughters love Nailed It!! SO freaking funny watching people that can't bake try baking. Also got sucked into a Forged by Fire marathon one rainy afternoon, pretty fascinating stuff.

We love Forged in Fire at our house! (I even had an old coworker who competed on it.) And I loved the glassblowing show too. I’d totally watch a soap making competition!
