Soap or Potion Pot this weekend - what's in it? (Feb 6 - 8)

I think I may just not put anything in my pot and continue on with my inventory that I've been going as slow as molasses on...

IF I get motivated enough I may make a couple of pillars, but other than that, not much going on at the Attic...

I'm excited for my soaping weekend. Actually, I've kind of already gotten a head start on it This morning I made a lavender and oat soap and right now I'm making an insect repellent soap with lots of yummy lemongrass - it smells so good!!!!

Over the weekend I'm going to attempt my milk & honey bar with hot process. It's one of my favorite bars, but I usually make it CP. I want to try it HP to compare them.

I have to restock sweet orange, sandalwood and australian bamboo grass and I need to make at least one batch of shampoo bars. Then I have to make some whipped shea for an order.

My first order came in so I have to make a chocolate mint soap this weekend! today I made 50+ bath bombs

Today I did a lard soap unscented with a 4 colour swirl and I made 36 Bath Salts - building up inventory. Tomorrow my mom gets back from Calgary so I'll be in Comox for the day and then on Sunday I want to get a couple more batches of soap done - one a Sweet Pea Scent and the other a Lilac/Jasmine scent - both swirls of course.... (a little addicted to the swirling stuff now)...

Practice rebatching AND practicing a white soap formula. Both in my new log mold, which I need to get use to.

I bought a silicone bundt cake pan, so I'm going to try a soap cake for a get-together I'm hosting next month. It'll be my first attempt at a soap cake. I'm planning on making it a pastel pink with darker pink ITP swirls, then drizzle the top with M&P & add some kind of sprinkles.

Question for you M&P experts:

If I sprinkle a green herb onto the M&P will it stay green? Will rose buds stuck into M&P retain their color, or will it all turn brown?

I know, I'm really duuhh when it comes to M&P!

If you sprinkle the green herb onto the M&P, it will most likely leech green into the M&P. That has been my experience anyways. If you incorporate it in, it will leech into the soap as well. I tried to do this both ways with a lavender soap right before Christmas & the lavender buds leeched green that eventually turned a greenish~brown into my lavender soap.


Nothing in mine this weekend. I'm doing a soap party tonight, so I'll be tidying up the house & making light snacks, gotta go get the drinks, etc. May try to make something tomorrow if time permits, as I'm really itching to try a super plain CP, since I found my great granny's recipe (after I run it through soapcalc since I have a feeling it will be very lye heavy).

Printed all my tags & labels for everything last night. We (my partner in crime & I) have made over 150 bars of soap, mostly HP with some M&P, about 250 containers of bath salts, 50 small bottles of massage oils, & a few large bottles of massage oils. Some of our products were incorporated into gift baskets, some were cut up for samples, & the rest will be on display in my living room tonight.

Last night I made a plain goatmilk soap and bubble bar with patchouli, lavender and orange with different colour for each scent. Today I plan to make another plain goatmilk as last night I really should have made a double batch. I am also thinking of making a 'pretty' log of soap today but can't decide exactly how I want to do this yet.

Getting ready for a spring show. I made a batch of unscented and a batch of cocoa swirl. After safely making pounds of soap and cleaning up the mess, I end up squirting myself in the eye while cutting up a jalapeno pepper for lunch. While I'm jumping up & down and rubbing my eye with my shirt, my youngest son yells "hold still mom, I've got the vinegar" :shock: Like I need that in my eye, you can tell he's been raised around soap. LOL
Where's Jadiebug at, I need to sit next to "Lye Eye" so we can look like Popeye together.
