Hi everyone!

Has anyone used a soap mold from AC Moore? I tried for the first time 2 nights ago. I made CP soap and its the kind of mold that has a screw on both ends and its all plastic. My dilemma... it makes a very nice mold, BUT the problem is getting the plastic off without taking chunks of my soap. :( I didn't pull it off but tried to slide it and still took some of my soap. I was able to cut some of it out and luckily for me it only affected a couple bars but still... I hate uneven looking soap. I attempted "in the pot swirl" and yay it came out lovely, but my missing soap ruined it for me. LOL

Anyone have a trick to dealing with this? Or any suggestions of a really nice brand or type of mold I should get? I want a 2 lb. mold of great quality. I have bramble berry 6 lb one with the slats, that is ok, but I prefer to cut my own.

Suggestions would be so helpful. Thank you!

You could line it with freezer paper. If you want to get away from lining, you could get a silicone mold.

If it is the same mold I use, and it sound similar, you need to wait a bit longer for the soap to be a bit harder than usual. If you are really impatient you could always take a very sharp thin knife (like a boning knife) and run it down the side before removing.

I like Essential Depot's silicone molds. I have two of the RED molds and purchased wooden boxes for them on Etsy.
