Hey there - I decided to have some fun with one of my soaps so I carved a greenman with it.....

Thanks for looking.....

And a whole new soaping avenue opens up......!!!

Seriously, you will sell heaps of carved soaps if you choose to, and all the shavings can be re-batched (Oh 'Queen of the Rebatchers').

Tanya :)

Wowee! That is sooo cool Lindy! Go with it...... it's a great opportunity for your soaps to be unique and a work of art!

Thank you - I wanted to see how well soap would carve - it was interesting - very soft even though that was a hard soap. I`m going to have him with me next weekend at the kiosk unpriced to see what I`m offered for him. He`s only a couple of inches high...

It was fun.....

Wow - I so appreciate your comments - really this was totally an experiment and a bit of play time. I don't know whether I'll bring it into the biz cause it takes so much time to make them - but I'll see. And it was fun - I wonder what kind of detail I could get with a wood burning detail burner....hmmmmmmmmm - I wonder what burnt soap smells like....hmmmmmm I may have to find out those little tidbits.....

You are all amazing and so appreciated.

Cheers
Lindy

Interesting Lindy, it could be the start of something good for you. I wonder if there is a tool that doesn't get as hot as a wood burner. Would something like an engraving tool work?

Lindy you are just so talented. You amaze me all the time ! That carving is gorgeous I think you could definitely find a nice market for those.

Seriously cool! If they take a long time o make you should do them as a specialty item for gift baskets and such.

Awesome job!!!

ok, where does your talent stop.. it appears to be endless. love it.

Thank you everyone!

Kitn - the burner that I use has variable temperature settings so you can burn designs into candles as well so I think it should be okay with the soap. Haven't had time to play with that yet. Today is a day of sign-making and labelling..... Oh yeah and organizing.....

Jbarad & Joanne - thanks for that idea - that could work....need to play with that some more....

I really appreciate everyone's kind comments - thanks again....

 that's just too cool for words!!

you might want to look in the hobby shops for a set of "clay sculpting tools". they have all sorts of clever little tools and loops that they use with terra cotta sculpting. a couple xmas's ago i got a "childrens set" that had all sorts of stuff for about $12.

great job, as usual! don't you ever sleep? LOL!
