I absolutely adore little soap ball embeds in soap loafs! I have made the little balls before...BUT...holy cannoli was it ever difficult, not to mention frustrating...time consuming... I grated up M&P coconut scented soap bars that I had made earlier, mixed in some coconut flakes and then molded the chunky bits into balls...hehehe..."balls"...sorry, just had to make a silly, lol! Anywho, I had to keep reheating ever so slightly during the process as it was hardening way too quickly. So, I'm wondering if any of you would be kind enough to tell me if there is an easier way of achieving this with M&P soap?? Thanks so much in advance fellow soapers!!

Since you are using m&p, not cp, I would try to find a ball mold. I've never tried to shape M&P for that very reason. They cool too fast for me.

You can use CP soap, wear gloves and shape the soap batter into balls - as well as you do it before it hardens completely. I have read about it, but not done it myself. This is the approach I would take if I wanted balls, just fresh CP and use gloves to mold the soap into balls. I would say, depending on the recipe, do it within the first 12 hours - hopefully you will get more details from an experienced CP ball maker....LOL

I think the suggestion of finding molds in the desired shape would be the easiest method for getting the result you are looking for. I have done a few MP, but I have not done anything real fancy like embeds, I just have played with doing layers in my mold (my singular, lonely MP mold, lol).

What about an ice cream scoop or melon baller with "almost cooled" MP...when its still pliable? Or what about wearing gloves and working the base over steam to keep it pliable?

I have searched everywhere for a ball mold and have yet to find one. But the search shall continue!! Lol
