Stuck in my head
here it is -=
I cut it on Monday night and it was rather soft, so I waited until today to trim it up.
well, it's still soft and just ugh... Such a failed batch. I haven't had a batch this bad in a while.
Here it is waiting to be trimmed -

Although it looks pretty enough...It did ash pretty badly on the tops. The bottoms don't look too bad, but what I'm going to do instead of trimming them is wait for a full cure then they will be shredded like these and go into a confetti soap... :)

Okay, on to my next project... :) A valentines soap. :)

Very pretty marbling. I like it. I think it's a little too early to say it's a failed batch. A lot of my soaps are soft at first but they harden after a long cure. You might find you absolutely love this recipe.

eta: I had a batch that was so soft and I thought it was terrible. I tossed the recipe thinking it was horrible. Six months later, I decided to use a bar because I didn't want the batch to go to waste. It was wonderful! Absolutely the best soap I had ever made and became my favorite. I was so upset that I had thrown out the recipe. I felt like crying. So, I really recommend you set back at least one bar and give it time. You never know.

Oh yeah, I'll probably save about 3 bars just because and I'll let it cure for at least 6 weeks before using it...
Eh, you may be right. We'll see...

Hopefully tomorrows batch(es) turn out much better... :)

Eh, I may be wrong. Please let me know how it turns out after curing. I'm interested.

Good luck with your next batches.
I've used this recipe before, but that was years ago, so I honestly don't remember how well I liked the bar. I know I didn't hate it or it didn't fail back then or I wouldn't have kept the recipe....

I'll let you know how it is after the cure... :)

The colours and patterns look great!

If your soap doesn't make you happier when it's cured, I'm sure it would look amazing in a confetti soap!

I wouldn't throw out the soap or the recipe. Wait until it cures. Just because it isn't as beautiful as you envisioned, doesn't mean the soap isn't good.
So many times I got caught up in what my soap should look like and tossed it or grated it and regretted it. But you know this, already.

However, those soap shreds are awesome. So uniform. What do you use to shred? Your soap confetti is so pretty.

Those in the box are actually just the beveled edges of previous batches.
I use a beveler that my hub made for me many many years ago. Materials to make it was less than $8 and it took him less than 10 minutes to make it for me.
When I get home I can take a pic of it if you want me too...
:)
