Okay, so I want to make my first batch of soap tomorrow. I'm trying to decide between a recipe for cucumber soap and oatmeal soap that I have. The oatmeal recipe calls for no preservatives. The cucumber calls for powdered benzoin. ....I've been trying to read up on preservatives because eventually I'd like to sell some soap if I'm any good at this. I'm running into a lot of contradictions though as I research. Do I need preservatives if i use fresh fruits and veggies? Some things say I do, some things say I don't.
If I do need them, can someone please tell me which preservatives are natural and will work well enough for me to be able to sell/give soap as gifts?? And if there are no natural preservatives that will do this--what should I use.
Thanks--I appreciate it greatly (and i hope this is the right part of the forum to post in--i searched and couldn't find a good answer to my question so sorry if i'm asking something that's already been covered)!
