I was on a soap forum several years ago and I remember a discussion about ingredients used in soaps and lotions. I remember someone posting that mineral oil does not absorb into the skin, but rather clogs the pores and block the skins own natural oil process. Can someone provide any information on that and any other inforamation on properties of common oils that may inhibit natural skin processes.

mineral oil doesn't clog my pores
I've moisturized my face with vaseline for years.

there is an oils qualities link out there somewhere - I'll look for it - but take it with a grain of salt.

"interferes" is an interesting word.

yes, there is so much bad info mixed with the good that it's very hard to separate it. fortunately we have forums full of people who've tried just about everything for themselves - which in theory could save us the effort of learning the hard way... (I'm among the guilty!)
