Anyone know of a place that sells silica gel powder at a reasonable price? I bought a 1oz container for about 12 dollars and little did I know a 20 oz batch of sugar scrub needs the entire 1oz of silica so it's going to get pretty pricey. I use silica in my sugar scrubs to give it a jelly-like consistency. I found a place that sells it cheaper on a art supply websotw being marketed as a oil base paint thickener but it's purity is 99.2 percent and the one I purchased from a cosmetics supplier is 100 percent so I don't know if it's okay to use in cosmetics with a purity lower than 100 or if it will have the same effect.
