Shrovetide doughnuts

Shrovetide is full of traditional festivities, carnivals and special food in my country.
My favourite are doughnuts. I just love the unmistakable aroma of fresh doughnuts in my kitchen. I fry them either on Saturday, Sunday or Tuesday. They are not filled with jam or dipped in liquid chocolate or sprinkled with multi-coloured sweet crumbs, with no hole in the middle, just simple round doughnuts.
I made these mosty for my grandchilden and children - of course the multi-coloured ones disappeared first.
