I am latex sensitive so just ckecking should the vinyl glove work ok for handling the lye. I ask because I was a nail tech and acetone ate right thru vinyl gloves. Thanks in advance. Jennifer
P.S Lye should be here 9/17.

I am not sure about lye and vinyl, but you can get latex free gloves. My daughter had to have latex free gloves for chemistry because she can't touch latex. You can pick up a box just about anywhere the latex gloves are sold. :D

I have read that vinyl gloves are fine . I usually wipe my gloved hands if I get raw soap on them to prevent getting the raw soap on something else .

they are fine with lye.

and yes jwood - one example of those latex free gloves are vinyl gloves.

I asked before but I can't find it now. Gloves you use in the medical field are ok right?

My vinyl gloves are the same thickness as regular latex washup style gloves.Have been using this pair for 4-5mths now,& they're holding up beautifully.Plus they're purple! :D
