I admit I only did this once back in 2005 but I thought Coconut milk was NOT SOLID ???

Yes. It separates while sitting in the can. I've never used the canned milk in soaping, but I've baked with it. For baking, you can mix it all back together, or you can use the solids or liquid separately depending on the recipe

It can, depending on the brand. Some coconut milk has some stuff added to it as thickeners. I found some "ungloopy" canned milks in the Mexican foods aisle at walmart (and only 98cents a can).

I tried to shake can before opening but it still felt solid.
I must have gotten a NEW can way back when, because I don't ever remember having to stir it.

Thai soup.. yummm

That's the brand I use for my soap. I usually shake the can pretty good before opening but you should be able to whisk that back together.

I got it all wisked up and put in the fridge for now. I want to get my recipe just right then add the milk and see what difference it really makes.

We went to our favorite Thai restaurant right after I said that, and I had some wonderful soup. But it's my son's recipe I like the best. I have it written down somewhere, hopefully in the kitchen, but haven't made it myself in awhile. But I did buy a can of coconut milk and a few other ingredients to make it when I went shopping earlier this week.

I used coconut milk recently in a recipe and it turned out fine. I just heated it in the mic for 2 min, stirring every 30 sec.

I just soaped with this same brand the other day. Didn't shake it up. Just made ice cubes of it and used it in place of my water 100%. Made the most creamiest soap batter.
