I have some friends who want some soap. Problem is, they're not local!

How do you ship your soap? In a manilla padded envelope? A small box? And do you package it any differently because it will be in the mail?

Also, how much does it normally cost to send a 5oz bar? Like $1? I don't want to charge people, but if it's costly, then I may have to, ya know?

If it's just a couple of soaps you can ship them in a padded envelope for about $2+. Shipping also depends on weight and where it's shipped to. I usually use USPS for shipping and print my labels at Paypal to save some money.

The cut off weight for first class USPS is 13 oz. You can fit 2 or 3 bars in a small padded envelope and remain under the weight limit. As soapbuddy mentioned, it would be a couple of dollars. Above that weight, a small flat rate priority box which would probably accommodate 3 bars of soap is around $5.

If your soap product is over 13 oz., USPS has a new flat rate padded envelope that ships for $4.95. Envelope dimensions: 9.5x12.5.
