Hello,

I've been trying to find something to add to my recipe to make it more sudsy, I'd like to avoid palm oil or coconut oil which have been suggested.

Does shea butter affect the sudsiness? I've read it makes a creamier bar but no mention of sudsiness...

My other ingredients are olive oil and veg shortening, I've read no more than about 5% of the recipe should be shea butter, does that sound right?

Thanks!

Cocoa butter affects the lather, as far as I can tell from using shea, it feels silky on the skin, but I did not notice any change in the lather of my soap.

shea contributes to a low, dense lather in my experience.

In a formula that is just olive oil, shortening, and shea I'm not sure there is much you can do to get good lather going. castor might help, babassu def would.

Thanks for the tips, I'm playing around with the soapcalc and I want to keep the ingredients as local as possible but increase the lather.
