Hi all *waves*. I've finally put an end to my lurker days!

I'm a total newbie to soapmaking and have only dabbled with melt and pour ... and have also veered into lotionmaking. In an attempt to avoid sulfates, I've decided to try and make my own shampoo. I've ordered Coco-Betaine and Coco Glucoside.

Do any of you know if mixing these two would be a good base for a mild shampoo?

hi soapgirl

coco-betaine is very appreciated by shampoo manifacturers; because it's rather mild, leaves a protective layer on the skin, and has the tendency to make other tensides more endurable. (30 % active particles)

coco-glucoside is very mild; low in irritants and conditioning. (40% active particles)

mixing the 2 would make a shampoo that is cleaning and pretty soft at the same time.

Dagmar, thank you very much for your reply. I'll be making my shampoo this weekend. I'm so excited!
